How To Solve "No Applicaiton Can Perform This Action" Error that is shown when sending .apk files via Bluetooth in CyanogenMod?
Problem :
When ever I try to share Android Application Package (.apk) files via Bluetooth "No application can perform this action" pops up!! Help me Plz..!! How can i fix this problem? I am running Cyanogen Mod RC5.7 on my Galaxy Pop GT-S5570 smartphone.
Solution :
Yes, that's a small bug (not exactly a bug though, one can take it as a security mechanism) and it doesn't allow you to send apk via Stock File Manager. However, if you try to send the application package file via other file manager apps like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer or Astro File Manager then, you can easily send those apps. I am sure you can find either of these in the market for free. So, try it out and it will work.
Solution 2 :
Also, another trick is to rename the application package file to .bak extension (or you can append .bak to .apk making it something like application_name.apk.bak temporarily) and then send it to a desired device. One sent ask the receiver to rename it back to .apk and he will be able to use it as normal package. I've not tried it but, it should work fine since the limit is on file extension and in our case we've modified it.

Problem :
Do I need to wipe data and cache after every time i flash a new Clockwork Mod RECOVERY or Custom Rom on my Galaxy Mini?
Solution :
You don't need to wipe data and cache after flashing CWM recovery. However, as a general rule you will always need to wipe data and cache after flashing any custom rom on your android smartphone. It is done so, to make sure that you have no problem while booting the rom as well as when using the ROM in the future. Without proper data and cache wipe you might get errors such as applications force close and others.
However, if you are a advance user and are quite sure about what you are doing then, you don't need to wipe data while upgrading from one version to another within a same custom rom. You can just flash the rom and wipe cache only and reboot your device. For example : Updating from CyanogenMod RC5.5 to RC5.7 doesn't require you to wipe data but, upgrading to emanoN rom or some other rom from CyanogenMod do require you wipe data for greater compatibility and efficiency. But, in case you happen to come across some problems such as stuck at ANDROID logo then you will need to wipe data and cache by going back to recovery and then reboot your device again.

Question :
Sir I need to overclock my galaxy mini to 825mhz. Can you tell me from where will i get PDA file for my galaxy mini? Android Version : 2.3.6 Baseband Version : S5570DDKQ7 Kernal Version : 2.6.35.7.
Please help me.
Solution :
I don't think flashing PDA can help you overclock. What you need instead is either overclock kernel for your stock firmware or custom kernel that can be overclocked. Since the former one is not available for your firmware; I suggest you flash any of the custom roms available at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/search/label/Flashing%20Custom%20Roms and you can easily overclock using No Frills CPU Control or similar app or if you install Cyanogen you will even be able to overclock from within CyanogenMod Settings.
If you have trouble selecting custom rom then emanoN v5 and CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 or RC5.7 are very good ones. Give them a try. I am sure you will like them as well as your problem will be solved too.
Question :
If I install a custom rom then will I be able to overclock my galaxy mini upto 825mhz?
Reply :
Yes, custom roms support overclocking up to 853 MHz (and above it too). However, it depends upon your device how much frequency it can handle. For example : My device can't handle more than 753 Mhz while there are examples of successful overclocking upto 853+ MHz too. But, since you can overclock it's worth a try. I suggest using CyanongenMod.

Question :
Why Ice Cream Sandwich version (both CM9 and MIUI ) have Camera and Radio bugs, and its taking so much time.
Was there similar long delay when there used to be custom ROM development of Gingerbread, when Gingerbread was newly launched?
Reply :
No, there was not such delay when there used to be custom rom development for Gingerbread. And, you should note that developing for custom roms based on Ice Cream Sandwich is quite different from the Gingerbread one. Read further to find these differences.
Gingerbread was an official support for galaxy mini and other devices so most thing needed came with the source including, camera libs, compatible kernel and many more. However, ICS not being an official release for all devices and still being in beta version the libs required to run camera and radio and other things are missing. Also, ICS uses kernel 3.0 however, due to the limit of low mid-range android smartphones the kernel from Gingerbread is needed to be used which again requires a lot of work. Similarly, the developers also rely upon the Cyanogen team for CM9 sources and features like those found in CyanongeMod 7 are still being ported to ICS based CM9. So, if you see it as a whole, only getting worried about new release by the users or the developer is not going to work well. It is equally important that users and developer be patient and wait for complete source to be available as well as for features from CM team.
Hope that was clear. If you have any doubts fell free to comment below.

Question :
I just managed to use a laptop and now have my lovely galaxy ace phone is back to stock rom with the help of you and Odin. Thank you. I know your not on here much but I have installed flash 10.1 then the 10.2 update (i tried 10.3) but none of them seem to work. I'm always getting messages from sites saying "You need at least adobe flash 7.0.0 your flash player is currently running 0.0.0"
I'm downloading the apk files installing and rebooting. Am I doing something wrong? My phone is no longer rooted due to reverting back to stock. Do I need it rooted to be able to view flash sites on the galaxy ace. I have read loads but don't seem to have found the answers I'm looking for. If you can help on that it would be fantastic.
Reply :
No, there's nothing you are doing wrong. In reality Adobe Flash player is not meant to be used on ARM v6 devices like Galaxy Ace or Galaxy Mini so the error is with the app you are trying to install. However, developers from various part of world have modded Adobe flash player to work with ARM v6 devices too and I have even tried one which worked on my Galaxy Mini running custom cyanogenmod rom.
But, in your case you are using stock firmware and I'm not sure if it will work on your device or not. However, you can give it a try once. Here's what worked for me : http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/10/adobe-flash-player-for-android-smart.html
Follow the instructions there and see if it works. If it does it's alright, however, if it fails to operate then download this one (Adobe_Flash_Player_11_v11.0.1.153_ARMv6_only.apk) and install it manually and see if it works. You may need to reboot after first install.
Also, please note that, while testing it in the browser you use a browser which supports Flash like Dolphin or Sky Fire and check to make sure that Flash plugin is not disable in settings and is set to always or on demand. Now, navigating to a flash site you should see a down arrow, clicking on which will active flash for that page and load it.
Hope it works. Don't forget to report if it worked or not?

Question :
I'm installing CWM version 4.0.0.5 into my Galaxy mini version DXKPD... I followed the instruction carefully in Handy Information downloaded the ODIN Multidownloader V.4.38, Tass v1.ops, and CWM v4.0.0.5... Unfortunately, it took me more than 5 hours waiting to see the "PASS" but i didn't see it at all at the upper left portion of Odin's screen box..so i decided to abort the process..Now i can no longer access my phone..the only thing i can see in the screen when i boot-up is the icon of a phone connected to a PC...but when i re-flash the CWM i still see the yellow triangle of android inside with a shovel...What will i do now? I really need your help....
Solution 1 :
Seems like you had a bad day. You bricked your galaxy mini gt-s5570 alright. However, since you said you can see PC and phone icon connected; it means it's probably due to a bad flash and can simply be solved by flashing a firmware using Odin. Just flash DXKPD firmware using Odin and your device should boot fine.
Once you successfully revive your galaxy mini then cautiously proceed with the clockwork mod installation. This time be careful and follow the instruction properly. Make sure you have required drivers, prepare Odin as instructed and make sure Kies is closed. Once you are ready, put your device in download mode (Volume Down + Home + Power button) and then connect it to your PC. Odin will probably detect it and when it is so simply press Start button. It should install your recovery within 3-5 minutes and say PASS. If it doesn't then something is wrong so double check if you did everything as instructed or not.
Solution 2 :
Lately, as i was analyzing what went wrong in my installation of CWM Recovery v4.0.0.5... There could be some mistakes or missing guidelines in the instructions.. So, what i did is that i reviewed all files that i gather previously and found something there.. I first disabled my antivirus and firewall then extract the zip files needed in a new folder just for them. Put it in My Documents not in a sub-directory. Then I Flashed it again in Odin and it did work.. My Galaxy mini is working again with a new CWM RECOVERY v5.0.2.0.7.

Question :
I really want my phone back to original rom. I have a samsung galaxy ace original firmware was gingerbread 2.3.6 eerm S580DXKT5. I changed to cm 7 but had major issues with camera & WiFi app problems. I had no pc so couldn't use Odin but was told ics stock v.2 works well which I could flash via just phone like I did for cm 7so I am using that now which was fine until phone battery died and since then the launcher fcs you tube wont work or update and that happens with most the preinstalled apps.
Soooo, I just want to get my phone bk to original state. Can you help . This site confuses hell out of me . So far I've downloaded odin to my phone that's it. Can you tell me what I do now? What i need to download or were from.
Reply :
I undertsood your problem and a very simple solution is to download and flash the DXKT5 firmware using Odin.
But, I also noticed, you don't have a PC. Well, I recommend you search for one (from your friends) and then follow the procedure posted here http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2012/01/how-to-flash-official-stock-firmwares.html
However, if you are really in a situation as not to get a PC then I suggest you wipe data and cache in recovery and it should be fixed all force close problem (but you will lose all your apps and settings). However, if you are not satisfied with the rom and want to completely go back to stock rom, then there's an app called mobile Odin (you can get it in market) which let's you flash official firmware from within a device. Though I am not sure if it works well on Galaxy Ace or not, but most probably it does and you can flash DXKT5 firmware using it from within the device. However, follow this as the last resort and at your own risk. I'm sure you will be able to find more info about mobile Odin at the market description.
