GalaxyICS Wifi Fix For CM9 For Samsung Galaxy Devices

GalaxyICS is a project that aims to bring Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich to low-end Samsung Galaxy series of Android Smartphones. While Cyanongemod team is busy working hard to make all the features of CyanogenMod 7 available in CyanogenMod 9 builds, this project currently builds cyanogen mod 9 android roms for different Samsung devices including Galaxy Mini, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Gio, Galaxy 5 and few others.

The latest nightly release was on 10th June and you can find details about the releases at galaxyics.com website. However, it seems many users have experienced  some problems with WiFi  (wireless network) on these cyanongemod builds. So, the developer has provided a fis to fix this wifi issue. In this article, I've got the same solution along with required instructions to get your device up and working fine.

Instructions to Install Wifi Fix
  1. Download  galaxyics wifi fix for cyanogen mod 9 from above.
  2. Copy the downloaded file  (wifi_fix_galaxyics.zip) to the root directory of your sd-card.
  3. Reboot your device to recovery mode (Press Home + Power button simultaneously to go to recovery).
  4. Select Install Zip From SD-Card  
  5. Select Choose Zip From SD Card and select the file named, wifi_fix_galaxyics.zip from the list.
  6. When installation is complete, Reboot your device.
That's all. Now, your wifi should work fine. If you are still having trouble then,  check your router settings as well as the wireless network profile on your handset to make sure everything (APN, password, etc.) is correct and try again.
